Mountaineering information
Mointaineering and alpine sports describe sports that are practiced in the mountains. Climbing is usually known by ice climbing on frozen waterfalls. Mixed climbing is operated on rocks and ice. Mointaineering in the Alps is also known as alpinism.
Mountain sports tourism is very popular, as you can combine recreational and active holidays in Germany without flying far away. Glacier tours, passing of glaciers and canyoning tours are possible under the guidance of mountain guides.
