The public works service / building authority is part of the local town administration. In general, the public works service takes care of the construction management, building permit procedures and construction consultancy. In contrast to the construction office, however, building supervision usually takes care of the sovereign tasks of building law and can usually be found at district level.
The public works service also looks after public construction projects. Here, the municipal construction management takes over the land-use planning, development plans and land use plans are created.
