The library houses and gives generally accessible, ordered books and media collections. A distinction is made between the public library and the scientific library. Known scientific library is the State Library, among public libraries there are city libraries, parish libraries and book buses.

Public libraries are free of charge, but borrowing is often associated with costs, which requires a library card.
