Disabled Sports describes those sports practiced by people with disabilities. Disabled sports are important for rehabilitation and can be operated as a recreational or competitive sport. Disabled sports are mainly known for the Paralympic Games, the Special Olympics and Deaflympics. Popular are the Special Olympics, in which people with intellectual disabilities or multiple disabilities can participate.
The Paralympics are closely linked to the Olympic Games.They take place directly after the Olympic Winter and Summer Games.
Disabled sports services
Well-known disabled sports are seated football, e-hockey, archery, paracycling and sledge ice hockey. Recognized Special Olympics sports are badminton, cricket and weightlifting. Paralympic sports are archery, cross-country skiing, bobsleigh, swimming disciplines, cycling, athletics disciplines and many other sports known from the Olympics. Competitive sports are esp. wheelchair basketball, para cycling, para athletics and para badminton.
