College information
The university / college serves scientific teaching. Basically, the university / college is distinguished by the community of teachers (lecturers) and learners. The university has special self-government rights, such as the awarding of academic degrees.
Many colleges go back to cathedral schools and monastery schools from the Middle Ages. Among the oldest universities in Germany are those in Erfurt and Heidelberg. Europe's oldest universities are in Vienna and Prague.
College services
The special rights of self-administration of a college or university include in particular the definition and implementation of curricula and the awarding of academic degrees. In Germany, there are the following academic degrees: Bachelor, Master, Academy letter, Master, diploma, diploma (FH) and doctoral degree. There are also doctorates and professorship titles.
You can obtain the academic degrees in the subjects that you have studied. Depending on the subject, you can then z. B. Master of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
