The Bureau of Standards / Office of Weights and Measures is an authority organised at land level which carries out the standard law and supervises standard-liable products. E. G. there are the Bureau of Standards of Saarland and the regional authorities for measure and weight Bavaria. The standard being is state since 1912 in the German-speaking space. In particular the calibration of measuring instruments like taximetres, petrol pumps and scales, measuring-technical controls and the supervision of ready packets are known duties of the Office of Weights and Measures.
